Your child has just finished Kindermusik Musicians Semester 1 and the excitement is just beginning! Semester 2 will continue what we have started and add beautiful musical layers for 15 more weeks as your child will complete Year 1 of Kindermusik Musicians.

Kindermusik Musicians is a preparatory program which will prepare your child for any private lessons they choose. There are 4 semesters in this program. The glockenspiel will be taught in the Semester 1 and 2, the dulcimer in Semester 3, and the recorder in Semester 4.

Age Range: 5 years to 6 years old (drop off class, parents join us for the last 10-15 minutes of class)

Class Structure: 15 classes in this semester beginning the week of August 14 and finishing the week of December 4. Semester 2 will begin January 2024 with Semester 3 beginning Fall 2024, and finally Semester 4 in January 2025. You are not required to take all the semesters, but we are sure you will as you see how much your child is learning and how the curricula is preparing them for private lessons in the future.

Cost: Register to save your spot for only $25 registration fee, $300 for this session (4 payments of $75 or full payment is accepted). Payments will be charged on January 8, February 8, March 8, and April 8.

What a child will experience in class

• Singing and vocal development — It may sound like a foreign language when a child sings “ta” and “ti-ti,” but this is the language of professional musicians and composers and getting young children ready to read and write simple rhythm patterns.
• Movement — See children dance expressively to music, giving them the practice they needs to coordinate their body movements to the sound of music. This kind of musical play not only improves musicianship, but physical coordination as well.
• Reading and writing — Young children will learn melodic notation and identify pitches such as the C, A, and D notes on the treble clef, plus rhythmic notation. Eventually even composing their own music.
• Focused listening — Children will learn to identify a range of orchestra instruments and their sound qualities, while also gaining an early awareness and knowledge of composers and masterworks in Western arts tradition.
• Exploring and playing musical instruments — Authentic percussion, string, pre-keyboard, and woodwind instruments expose children to the many choices for future musical study, and at the same time provide them with the opportunity to musically succeed before taking on more formal instruction.
