WELCOME TO LEVEL 3!
Did you know that preschoolers have a natural
love of music? Level 3 classes use music to boost language skills, confidence,
social-emotional skills, self-control, and more. Parents and caregivers join a
portion of each class to participate in the music-making.
What should a music class for preschoolers include?
It is not just playing instruments. Kindermusik Level 3 classes will also
focus on sound exploration, ensemble development, creative play, and more.
Preschoolers will enjoy the fun of music-making while boosting all areas of
learning.
What to expect...
*Ensemble
Development - All together
now! Level 3 students will play simple patterns as a group, building the tools
they will need to create music in an ensemble.
*Pre-reading
Music - Take it one
symbol at a time. Preschoolers will begin to learn to interpret graphic
notation symbols in comparison to sounds, which is a precursor to reading
music.
*Creative
Expression - What do you
think? Through creative play, 3-5-year-old students learn to safely express
their feelings and ideas through movement and music.
*Instrument
Play - “Da-dum-da-dum!”
Your child will play a variety of instruments, emphasizing on steady beat,
repeated rhythm patterns, and graphic notation.
What you’ll learn...
*Language
Understanding - Level 3
students gain a wider vocabulary and knowledge of story structures and learn
how to decode and interpret symbols.
*Cognitive - Preschoolers
show a growing ability to memorize and recall information, and present
increased attention and focus.
*Listening
and Sound Recognition - Children are
able to detect patterns, nuances, and timbre in different sounds they hear.
*Socialization - Level 3
students will learn to wait patiently, take turns, work cooperatively in a
group, and communicate effectively and respectfully.

Winter/Spring Themes
Outside My Window - What’s the weather like today?
Look outside the window and see! Is it raining with plenty of drip-drop,
splashy sounds to imitate? Or is it a cold, snowy morning just right to make
some pretend snowballs? In this weather-themed nit, we’ll move to the music,
explore rhythms and patterns, categorize sounds, and highlight the musical
concepts of crescendo and decrescendo. Prepare to create a rainstorm symphony
of sounds and move like leaves in the wind – the sun, rain, wind, and snow are
all waiting right Outside My Window!
Let's Play - It’s time to play! And as we’ll play, we’ll
take in new information, see how it fits in with what we already know, and
combine the new and old to “construct” an understand of our world. We’ll take
time to reflect, compare, make choices, express opinions, and solve problems,
as we pretend to walk to the park, ride a train, play on the playground, and so
much more. Enjoy mixing favorite toys and games with music as we invite one and
all: Let’s Play!
Animals a-Dancin' - What’s your favorite dance? What’s
your favorite animal? What’s your favorite instrument or song? The activities
in this unit will help us answer these questions, discover our preferences, and
become more self-aware in the process. Along this journey of self-awareness,
we’ll also develop our motor, language, and vocal skills using songs, music,
movements, and instrument play-alongs. Prepare to ribbit like a frog, roll like
a pig, and swing like a monkey as we join the Animals A-Dancing!
